etagis Interface#

General#

The etagis Interface functionality enables a direct connection between the etagis APS control centre and KUMAVISION factory365 via an API interface. In addition to the standard integration of sales and production orders, the etagis Interface functionality expands functionality to include project planning and monitoring. This means that all processes from production and project management are consolidated within a single central solution, leading to increased transparency and efficiency.

The planning and control of assembly orders is not provided for in etagis APS.

Note

The etagis Connector in AppSource by etagis is not compatible with KUMAVISION factory365 and does not offer the full range of functions of the etagis Interface functionality.

Licensing#

As data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1 is processed, modified, and written back (bidirectionally) in an external system via the etagis Interface functionality, each etagis APS user must hold a corresponding Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1 licence.

In accordance with Microsoft1 licensing terms, this constitutes multiplexing. Premium-User License are required for the etagis Planner and etagis Team Leader. For the etagis User (who has read-only access), a Team Member License licence is sufficient.

Note

You need a separate license to use this functionality.

Setup#

Only the essential set ups for the interface within KUMAVISION factory365 are described below.

Note

A separate guide for the setup and installation of the etagis Interface and etagis APS is available for project managers and administrators. This guide will be provided to you by your KUMAVISION project management team during the project.

You can find all additional settings for etagis APS in the application manual under Menu/Extras/Manual.

KUMAVISION Module Setup#

To use the etagis Interface, enable the Etagis Interface active toggle in the KUMAVISION Module Setup.

Users#

To access etagis APS, it is necessary to set up a separate user (for OnPremise environments) or a Microsoft1 Entra ID (for SaaS environments) with restricted access (see permission sets) within KUMAVISION factory365.

Please note the various options described in the previously mentioned guide for installing and setting up the etagis Interface and etagis APS.

Permission Sets#

For access to the interface, the following permission sets must be assigned:

  • D365 BASIC
Permission set delivered by default in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1
  • SYSTEM APP - BASIC
Permission set delivered by default in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1
  • KVSFCYETAGIS
Permission set delivered by default in KUMAVISION factory365

The default permission sets cannot be modified. For customer-specific extensions to the permissions, a separate permission set must be created and assigned.

Company Information#

Within etagis APS, the due dates of customer orders and projects are generally not adjusted. Therefore, any potential date conflicts arising from reservations during the import from etagis APS must be handled accordingly.

For the planning results from etagis APS to be written back to KUMAVISION factory365 without errors, the Enable Date Conflicts toggle in the General FastTab of the company information must be activated.

Use in process#

The etagis interface is executed automatically in the background during import and export processes within etagis APS, so you are not directly involved in these procedures. Nevertheless, various functions are available for the administrative monitoring of imports from etagis and their further processing in KUMAVISION factory365.

Note

Manual processing of the Etagis import entries can be enabled in the configuration of etagis APS.

Etagis Import Entries#

You can open the overview of etagis import entries directly via the search icon in KUMAVISION factory365. There, you will first see a summary of the interface processing log as well as a list of the tables that have been transferred from etagis APS to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1.

In addition to the status of each import entry, further information is provided, including the timestamp for receipt and processing, as well as the number of records successfully imported.

You can access the Etagis import entry lines via the value in the Number of Detail Lines field or via Open Entry Lines on the ribbon. By selecting Show Content, you can view the exact content of the JSON file as transmitted by etagis APS.

This information is also stored in plain text on the Etagis Import Entry Lines page and can be accessed via the corresponding Etagis import entry lines.

The ribbon also provides the following functions for manual intervention in processing: Start Import, Set as Processed, and Reset Processing.

Manual processing of etagis import entries is intended exclusively for exceptional cases or can be used during the implementation phase, provided that automatic processing in etagis APS is deactivated.

Table data of the Etagis import entries#

Table-ID Description Fields
5406 Production order lines always in combination with the corresponding production order routings • Start date/time
• End date/time
• Etagis data:
Content is defined in the etagis configuration
5409 Production Order routings • Type:
Workstation or workstation group
• No.:
Number of the workstation or workstation group
• Start date/time
• End date/time
• Etagis data:
Content is defined in the etagis configuration
1003 Project planning lines (only if project processing is activated in the configuration of etagis APS) • Start date
• Planning date

Appropriate events are available within the etagis interface for project-specific extensions. Please note that the configuration within etagis APS must also be adjusted for both import and export (see the manual under Menu/Extras/Manual within etagis APS).

Etagis Import Entry Lines#

The overview of the etagis Import Entry Lines can be accessed either directly via the search icon in KUMAVISION factory365 or through the ribbon in the etagis Import Entries overview.

All records transferred from etagis APS are shown in the etagis Import Entry Lines. For each record, you receive not only the primary key information but also details on the processing status and, in the event of an error during processing, a specific error message.

By using Open Source Document Line or Open Source Document in the ribbon, you can directly access the corresponding document or the specific document line. Via Show Field Entries, you can open the etagis Import Field Entries, which are also displayed in the FactBox of the etagis Import Entry Lines.

For manual intervention in the processing of the etagis import entries, it is possible at this point to activate individual records for reprocessing in the event of errors by using Reset Line in the ribbon. In addition, the specific content of the respective JSON file transmitted from etagis APS can be retrieved for the corresponding record.

Etagis Import Field Entries#

In the overview of the etagis Import Field Entries, which can be accessed via the etagis Import Entry Lines, individual fields and their contents can be conveniently viewed. For each table field in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1, the extracted field value from the JSON file is displayed as text, as well as its adoption as the corresponding value in the table field. For table fields of the type DateTime or Time, the time zone configured in the Microsoft1 Entra application is also taken into account.

Etagis Import Error Handling#

To ensure that you are informed in the event of an error during the background processing of etagis import entries, the Role Centres Production Manager and Project Manager have been enhanced with an etagis Import stack and the notification system of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1.

The information displayed in the stack, as well as the notifications, generally refer to errors that occurred during the most recent import from etagis.

Stack etagis Import in Role Centre Production Manager#

If errors occur during the processing of etagis import entries for production orders, these will be displayed in this stack. Through this stack, you can then access an overview of the etagis import entries with the status Error.

Stack etagis Import in Role Centre Project Manager#

If errors occur during the processing of etagis import entries for projects, these will be displayed in this stack. Through this stack, you can then access an overview of the etagis import entries with the status Error.

Etagis Import Notifications#

In the context of production orders and projects, you will receive a notification in the respective document card as soon as faulty etagis import entries exist for the relevant process.

With this notification, you can directly access the overview of faulty etagis import entries for the respective document with a single click. Users can also choose to permanently deactivate notifications within the documents if required.

Deactivated notifications can be reactivated at any time via My Notifications.
