Overproduction#
This functionality allows you to permit percentage deviations from the planned production quantities.
To do this, you must specify the desired permissible percentage deviation for overproduction in the Over Production % field on the Replenishment FastTab of the item card.
In the Manufacturing Setup, you can specifically define in the General FastTab, in the Over Production Dialog Type field, whether and how the system notifies users in the event of overproduction. The following options are available to you.

| Check Over Production with Dialog | A check is carried out regarding deviations in production quantities. Only completed quantities that fall within the tolerance range defined on the respective item card can be recorded. If you enter a completed quantity that falls outside the tolerance range for overproduction, a dialogue page will open displaying details about production quantities and overproduction. If you close the dialogue page, the previously entered quantity will not be accepted. If a completed quantity falls within the tolerance range for overproduction, a dialogue page will also open providing information about production quantities and excess amounts. If you confirm the details by clicking OK, your entered quantity will be retained. However, if you select Cancel, the previously entered quantity will not be accepted. |

Note
The check for overproduction quantity is carried out for each routing. Therefore, the provision of a routing is a prerequisite.
Example
With a production order quantity of 1,000 units, the maximum overproduction allowed is 20%, which equals 200 units. Therefore, the tolerance range is from 1,000 to 1,200 units. Quantities from 1,201 onwards cannot be recorded, and an error message will appear if the Check Overproduction with Error setting is configured in Manufacturing Setup. If the Check Overproduction with Dialogue setting is configured in Manufacturing Setup, a dialogue page will appear with information about production quantities and overproduction.
