Extensions Subscription Billing#
The subscription billing functionality in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central1 has been extended in KUMAVISION project365 as follows:
Projects#
In subscription billing, projects serve only to collect expenses (vendor subscriptions) and revenues (customer subscriptions). Subscriptions are not created in the project, but always from the sales document.
Create Subscription#
If a subscription is created from a sales line linked to a project and a work package, this project link is carried over to the subscription.
If a subscription is assigned to a customer subscription contract or a vendor subscription contract, this link is also carried over.
Information on the Project#
Assigned subscriptions are shown on the Project Card and Project List in the Project Documents FactBox under the heading Subscriptions.
It is divided into customer subscription contracts, vendor subscription contracts, and subscriptions.
A FactBox is also available in the work breakdown structure, showing the customer subscription contracts and vendor subscription contracts assigned to the respective work breakdown structure line. In addition, the Subscription Exists field indicates whether the line is linked to a subscription.
Project Postings#
If a subscription line is linked to a project and a WBS line, posting an expense or revenue also creates a project ledger entry.
Accrual Postings in the Project#
Important notes on accrual postings for subscriptions: Subsequent accrual postings are made only in Financial Accounting and are currently not carried forward in projects. This means that revenues or expenses posted in advance for a longer period (e.g. one year) remain entirely on the start date in the project, while in Financial Accounting they are distributed across the individual periods (e.g. months) by means of accrual postings.
